NOW FOR AN ARMGUARD

A North Indian brass armguard or Dastana, probably from Rajasthan, decorated with roundels and script, date uncertain, probably 19th century.  We think this armguard should now be worn as the most spectacular ornament, more so even than a jewelled Chinese nailguard.  It has travelled back to India for some repairs and quite astonishingly exactly the same brass springs as the originals are still to be found in the Jaipur market.  A very unusual present indeed – a bangle on steroids. £260
