Nothing like a silver box. With ruler?

A couple of examples of silver boxes, one being by J C Vickery, who were gold and silversmith retailers based in Regent Street, London from 1890.  The company held a large number of Royal Warrants to European royalty including the Kings of Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Schleswig Holstein and Britain.  The firm went into administration in 1930 when John Collard Vickery died and was taken over by James Walker Ltd.  These little boxes were part of dressing table sets and make perfect little presents as an alternative to the smelly stuff or the grand box of chocolates.

This little box has some wear commensurate with age and use.

The ruler A splendid heavy solid silver ruler made in 1991, 73.2 grams, inscribed 1975, 1995, 29 June, with hallmarks, makers mark RC, 6 inches/15 centimetres, some scratches commensurate with use. We are having a problem identifying the right maker for the mark, the best known RC being Richard Crossley who made silver in the late 18th and early 19th century.  We will consult our experts, Styles of Hungerford who are able to identify almost any piece of silver and have usually known all our contemporary makers personally.
