A bronze fragment of a flying horse, approximately 14cm high, on a polished stone plinth, 22cm overall.
We have not yet taken expert advice on this bronze so far but we find it completely compelling, although wouldn't it be wonderful if it was 10 times the size? It is reminiscent of bronze horses of classical antiquity, the Byzantine horses on St Mark's in Venice, but they lack wings. It reminds us of some but we can't find a comparable flying horse from which it may have been taken as a rather superior museum copy. Perhaps it is nothing of the kind and is a contemporary piece but it is beautiful wherever it came from.
