Dinosaur tooth?

Well, probably not......but a pretty impressive 20cms tall fossil spike. This curious fossil spike has yet to be identified by the Natural History Museum but we are posting it in the interim because it is such a pleasing object for its own sake. Much as we would like to imagine it might be a fossilised auroch horn or the fang of some truly spectacular dinosaur, we think it is most likely to be fossilised coral, possibly worked and polished to achieve this shape. BUT WE DON'T KNOW YET. The current price is tentative and based on purchase price and the object purely as an unusual and eyecatching decorative piece with fossil traces
