ANTIQUE PERSIAN MINATURE

A finely painted portrait of a nobleman with falcon in gouache, pen and ink, illuminated with gold leaf, C18th/C19th, 14.5 x 20cm.  We bought this catalogued as a Mughal miniature but think it is Persian, probably pre-Qajar,  and really the most glorious little painting, both decorative and elegant and altogether appealing.  We have left it in the slightly unlikely frame it arrived in, which oddly suits it quite well, but could easily have it reframed by QED or it is small enough to put into that good photo frame you have at home to replace the faded picture of a long forgotten family wedding full of unrecognisable faces. £390
