A fossilised fish, 22x12cm slab

We should probably know more about this fish but we think it is a Knightia, a herrring like fish probably from the Green River Formation in Wyoming.  They are not extraordinarily rare but this is a good slab and then every fossil is treasure to the lover of such things as we know from hours spent finding things that just might be pieces of plesiosaurus on Dorset beaches.  An excellent present we think for the right person.
