A 50CM TALL INDIAN OIL POT

This is one of those things we were surprised to find in a local auction house and had to have just because.  It stands on its own as an eyecatching object or you could put this or that in it to add whatever you want to add.  it reminded us of the huge silver water pots  at the entrance to the City Palace in Jaipur, used by the then Maharajah to carry a supply of Ganges water for his use during his voyvage and visit to England for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.  This is not quite up to those standards but it is of splendid dimensions at approx. 55cm tall x 40cm wide x 25cm deep. £220
